How to Use Your Meal Plan

Meal Plan turns the recipes in your Cookbooks into a stress-free week of cooking. Add recipes to the days you want to cook them, move things around when life happens, and let your grocery list build itself — all in one place.

What's the Meal Plan?

The Meal Plan is your weekly cooking calendar. Open it up, drop in any recipe from your Cookbooks for any day of the week, and you've got the week sorted before Sunday's even over. Bonus: your grocery list pulls straight from whatever you've planned, so you'll never forget that one ingredient again.


How to add a recipe to your plan

You can add a recipe to your plan in two ways — straight from the planner, or from a recipe page.

From the My Meal Plan tab

  1. Open the My Meal Plan tab.

  2. Tap the day and meal slot (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack) you want to fill.

  3. Your Cookbooks will pop up — head into the cookbook with the recipe you want, and select it.

  4. Done — the recipe will show up on the day you chose!

From a recipe page

Already viewing a recipe you want to plan in?

  1. On the recipe page, tap the Meal Plan icon.

  2. Tap the + on the day you'd like to cook it.

  3. Choose the meal slot — Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack.

  4. Tap Done — and you're set!

You can add as many recipes as you like to a single day. Handy for batch-cooking days or busy evenings with sides.


How to move meals around

Plans change — and your meal plan can keep up. To move a meal:

  1. Press and hold the meal you want to move.

  2. Drag it to the day you want.

  3. Let go!

No need to delete and re-add. 🙌

One thing to know: you can move meals freely within the same week, but not between different weeks just yet. If you need to bump something forward to next week, you'll need to remove it from this week and add it to next for now.


How to remove recipes from your plan

Changed your mind? Removing recipes is quick — and they'll stay in your Cookbooks, so you can always add them back.

Remove specific recipes

  1. In the My Meal Plan tab, tap the three dots in the upper right.

  2. Tap Remove recipes.

  3. Tap the X next to each recipe you want to clear.

Clear a whole week

Want to wipe the slate clean and start fresh?

  1. In the My Meal Plan tab, tap the three dots in the upper right.

  2. Tap Clear recipes — and just like that, the whole week's empty and ready for a fresh plan.


How to change your week's start day

Like to plan from Monday instead of Sunday? You can set your Meal Plan to start on whichever day works best for you.

  1. In the My Meal Plan tab, tap the three dots in the upper right.

  2. Tap Change start day.

  3. Pick the day you'd like your week to start on.

  4. Tap Save — and you're all set!


Your grocery list, sorted

Here's where the magic happens: your grocery list builds itself from whatever you've planned for the week. Open your Grocery List, and every ingredient you need is already there — organized by supermarket aisle, so you're not zigzagging through the store.

A few handy things to know:

  • Tap to deselect items you already have at home (looking at you, salt and pepper).

  • Tick off items as you shop.

  • The list pulls from every recipe in your plan, so adding or removing meals updates it automatically.


Tips & troubleshooting

  • Meal Plan won't load? Try closing and reopening the app, or signing out and back in. That usually does the trick!

  • Can't find a recipe? Check that it's in one of your Cookbooks — anything you import from Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest lives there.

  • Want to plan ahead? Scroll forward to future weeks and start planning whenever you like.

  • On desktop? Meal Plan is currently mobile-only (iOS and Android). Web access is on the roadmap — stay tuned!
